The UConn Huskies added another chapter to their legendary run Sunday night, beating South Carolina 82–59 to win a record 12th NCAA women’s basketball championship — all under Auriemma.
From the start, UConn came out firing, building a double-digit lead by halftime and never letting up. By the fourth quarter, the game had turned into a rout, with the Huskies showcasing their signature defense, ball movement, and big-game composure. “This group never stops working,” Auriemma said. “Tonight, they played like champions.”
With the win, UConn reinforces its status as the most dominant program in women’s college basketball.
